DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?

Yes! Currently at this time I accept Highmark and Cigna.

If you have insurance that I am not currently in network with, you are able to submit a superbill to your insurance for potential reimbursement. I recommend contacting your insurance to see what out-of- network benefits they offer. Important questions to ask are: "What mental health benefits do I have?", "What is my deductible or out of pocket max, and do OON therapy services contribute to that?", "Do you offer reimbursement for out of network mental health providers?"

For out of pocket costs, fees vary depending on the service. An intake appointment-which can be between 1-2 sessions depending on your history-costs $150 for individuals and couples/families. Individual sessions are $125, and couples/family sessions are $175.

If you are using your insurance to cover services, I recommend contacting your insurance to better understand your mental health coverage, I recommend contacting your insurance directly. You can ask: "What mental health benefits do I have?", "Is there a copay for mental health outpatient services?", "Do payments for mental health services go toward my deductible or out of pocket max?". Prior to us meeting, I will confirm your benefits with your insurance provider.

For those who may not have insurance or cannot afford copays, I partner with various agencies and referral sources to offer sliding scale fees. You can find me on Open Path Collective to learn more.

I accept payment through the Simple Practice secure platform via credit card or FSA/HSA. Clients are required to have a credit card on file at the start of services, but cards are never charged until after a service has been conducted.

Depending upon the type of service you are receiving, sessions typically last between 45-60 minutes and are typically held once a week. We may meet more or less often depending on your needs.

Length of therapy is personal, and varies depending upon your needs. How long you remain in therapy will be dependent upon your reasons for seeking support, the therapeutic goals you have, and how long you'd like to be in therapy. I will support your personal goals while also helping you to learn and maintain healthy coping skills that allow you to feel empowered, stable, and confident to discontinue when you are ready.

"Office hours" are Monday-Friday, 10a-6p. Afternoon/evening appointments are frequently in high demand and often have a higher waitlist time.

At this time, I see clients through Telehealth only. Telehealth sessions are held over a secure client portal through Simple Practice via video. At times under specific circumstances I may offer audio only/phone sessions as well.

Due to licensing laws, I can only see clients who are located in the state of Pennsylvania. If you are a college student, I recommend finding a therapist who is a good fit in the state where you attend school and work with your therapist on developing a care plan over breaks. Alternatively, you can search for a therapist who is duel-licensed in both your state of residence and state where you attend school.

At this time, I do not see minors and support individuals who are 18+.

No, I am only able to offer therapeutic services and do not prescribe medications. If you feel that medications would be helpful in addition to therapy services, I can assist you with finding a psychiatrist or specialist who will collaborate in your treatment support.

I operate under a harm-reduction model. This means that you do not necessarily need to be sober in order to seek counseling services. I believe that part of the process of therapy is determining if pursuing sobriety is a good fit for you. Relapses and slips are sometimes a part of the recovery process and are not automatic grounds for being ineligible for outpatient services. I also have experience supporting clients who are utilizing suboxone/methadone/vivitrol to support their recovery.

There may be instances where risky substance use could require more support than I can offer as an outpatient telehealth provider. If this is the case, I can provide resources for agencies that offer a higher level of care. If the need arises in your treatment for a higher level of support such as detox or intensive outpatient, I will assist you with finding a facility that can meet your needs.

Therapists are not one size fits all-there are many factors to consider when determining if a therapist is a good fit for you. It is my goal to help you feel comfortable, safe, and supported in a way that meets your needs, even if that is not with me! I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation that will give you the chance to share what you are looking for in therapy; this also gives me an opportunity to inquire about your needs to make sure I am a good match for you. If I feel that you would be better suited for another therapist, I will provide recommendations and referrals to assist with your search. If we move forward with scheduling sessions, I will check in with you after the intake and throughout our time together to make sure you feel comfortable and that your needs are being met. I typically recommend committing to a new therapist for 3-4 sessions after the intake to assist with determining a good fit-but sometimes you just know that a therapist is or isn't a good fit, and that's okay too!

In general, I may be a good fit for you if you are seeking services for: ADHD, anxiety, chronic illness/pain, depression, chronic PTSD, addiction, or codependency. I utilize interventions that focus on the person as a whole-incorporating mental, emotional, behavioral, and spiritual components into treatment. I am very passionate about racial reconciliation and enjoy working with clients from a variety of cultural backgrounds, as well as clients who identify as LGBTQ+. I tend to have a conversational, interactive, relatable therapeutic style. I also enjoy incorporating spirituality into sessions and can offer Christian counseling at your request. I also have experience incorporating other religions/spiritual beliefs into sessions for those who value their faith. I am not a pastoral counselor and will not impose my personal beliefs into sessions regardless of your faith background.

Regardless of your reasons for seeking therapy, I find it an honor and a privilege to be a part of someone's journey through therapy. Therapy is a place where we discover parts of ourselves that we have kept hidden, parts of ourselves that we may be afraid of, and parts of ourselves that we wish to release. I do not take it lightly to be part of such a vulnerable yet freeing journey, and am always grateful to offer support for those in the trek to finding and freeing themselves.
